It was well over a month ago that we first arrived in Michigan, and even though I'm really far behind, I still want to get it documented before the memories completely slip out of my mind.
A day after arriving "home," we headed up north.
If you're not familiar with life in Michigan, there is a place we go to get away, called "up north". It's basically the upper part of the mitten (lower peninsula) to the tip of the rabbit (upper peninsula).
Usually, "up north" includes cottages and lakes.
We met up with a whole slew of extended family at a quaint cottage in Petoskey, MI.
By day, we played on the wrap-around porch and at the beach.
By night, we rode our bikes along the shore to watch the sunset (and watched a lot of Olympics).
Going up north is sometimes just what is needed to enjoy the simple life. Nothing makes me happier than being by the water, surrounded by family that we don't see often.
It looks gorgeous and sounds idyllic. Will you take me to Michigan with you someday?
