Snow Cones and Raining Lava

Before leaving Vegas, Crew and Finn were happy to try out our friends' new snow cone machine.

We sent them in the backyard with their flavored ice to prevent a sticky mess in the house. The funniest conversations took place between the two of them, as well as new, morbid lyrics to the tune of "It's  Raining Tacos."

Those Summer Nights

It's no secret that I'm a sucker for golden evening light. My tombstone will probably say something like, "Look at the light!" because I point it out to my kids every single day. Warm summer nights are the perfect time to round up whoever I can to come out and enjoy it with me.

Scooters and Rain Boots

The first week back to school after Christmas break has historically been rainy and this year was no exception. Our "fall" comes in January and the trees lose their leaves for a short season. Crew and Finn hopped on their scooters in pajamas and rain boots on a rainy morning after their brothers went to school.

Finn the Robot

Finn developed a love for robots and was so excited to dress up as a robot for Halloween. Any type of fleece costume is a risk in Southern California because you never know how hot it will be on Halloween, but I couldn't imagine him being comfortable walking around in a cardboard box converted robot costume. The weather cooperated and his costume goes down as one of my favorites, only second to the pineapple. The best part was that every time Finn put his costume on, he transformed into the role and spoke in monotone, "oh ee ee oh."

Putting off Mondaying

We woke up one morning after the weekend and decided to put off Mondaying after sending big brothers to school. I think we made the right choice.
