The Thumb Finder

Blake finally found his thumb. He has always tried to push his fingers, fists, or pretty much whatever he could get into his mouth, but he wasn't ever coordinated enough to keep them there. I am now convinced that thumbsucking is the best habit ever. It soothes him, helps him fall asleep, keeps him occupied, can't be lost or fall on the ground, and is actually really sweet. I love to go into his room and find him asleep with his thumb in his mouth.

Easter

We had Easter Dinner with Troy's family at our place this year. It was crammed, but pleasant! We amazingly fit all six adults around our tiny table, and the "buffet" was served on the washer and dryer. Needless to say, I am excited to have some more space someday.

Some highlights of the day were Grandpa Tanner and Todd getting Blake to crack up in hysterics (I think our tricks are getting old), Troy giving Tricia a "Let the Stars Reveal Your Mr. Right" quiz (Troy thought the results were right on, which he became very animated and excited about), and I got to dye and decorate Easter Eggs for the first time (My childhood did not consist of this).

Of course, it was nice to remember the true meaning of Easter, although I was in and out of the chapel with Blake. We are hoping he'll be able to understand who Jesus is next year and feel how much He loves him.

Don't Ya, Don't Ya?

Blake, you have pretty blue eyes. Don't ya, don't ya?

Blake, you like to laugh. Don't ya, don't ya?

Blake, you love your mommy. Don't ya, don't ya?

Blake, you think mommy is funnier than daddy. Don't ya, don't ya?

He thought all of these questions were pretty hilarious.

Three Months

Blake finished his third month with a bang. This week, on the same day, he slept through the night and rolled over! He hasn't done either task since that lucky day, but now that we know he can do these things, we are anxiously anticipating the next time. I now have about 15 video clips of Blake not rolling over, so it would be great if he did it again soon for the video camera's sake and future home-movie marathons. Regardless, we love our little Blake and are so proud of him.

Tube Time

Last night, our date night consisted of ordering take-out, blowing up the air mattress, pulling out the blankets, and having a movie marathon. This quickly turned out to be Troy's favorite date, mostly due to the movies. Blake really enjoyed himself too. He is sure his daddy's boy when it comes to focusing on the TV. In fact, Blake showed us his newest tummy time, or should we say "tube time" trick. He lifted up his head higher, and I mean much higher, than he ever has, just so he could see the TV! As much as we hate to admit it, we now know how to get him to enjoy tummy time more. We just stick him right in front of his new stimuli. Who would've thought the TV would do the trick?
