We took advantage of the long weekend in January to visit our good friends in Vegas. Our kids adore each other and they're always asking when we can see the Palmers next. They were nice enough to heat their pool for the weekend and it was well used.
We also played lots of shuffleboard and stayed up way too late chatting. We often stick to the house and rarely visit the strip when we're there because everyone is so entertained just being together. This time, we ventured out on a hike. Our friend Lincoln is also into photography which means we collaborated on some desert hike shots. It's rare that I'm in front of the camera instead of behind it!
I have a thing for capturing unique nature and I was caught in action.
We built a rock cairn just like we do on Mackinac Island.
Nash and Liam are best buddies and can talk for hours about fictional characters I've never heard of.
It was one of those evenings where the sky gets pinker and pinker the deeper the sun sinks below the horizon. We loved experiencing the desert beauty and not one kid complained about hiking. It doesn't matter what we do with the Palmers, we are always so happy to be together.
