Once a year, the City of Fun arrives at the park across the street from our neighborhood. It is the perfect beginning to my favorite week of the year.
Blake and Nash have been looking forward to the magical transformation of "their park" for months. And I secretly love it too. The heat, the colors, the crowds of people, the bumper to bumper cars parked on our street, the noise, the late nights, the carnival food, the city coming alive - I love it all.
During the few days leading up to the big event, the boys worked to earn dollars for carnival rides. I've never seen them beg so much to help with laundry, cleaning and dishes. Since we were going to pay for rides anyway, I figured we might as well make them work for it. It was worth every penny.
After oohing and ahhing over the rides being pulled in on trailers all week, the actual carnival did not disappoint. The boys traded in their hard earned money and the fun began.
Nash's sunglasses spent half the night upside-down, as per usual.
And this baby just chilled and smiled, as per usual.
A firefighter topped off the night by letting the boys stand on his truck.
Not a bad way to kick off day one of festivities.
Love it all; your pictures are great, love Nash's upside down sunglasses, and the boys trading in their money for tickets. They are seriously the cutest!
ReplyDeleteI love your carnival pictures. I love that you love photographing it as much as I do, and even if we take pictures last year, we still can't help but take more again :)
