Disneyland Dream Come True

As always, we watched the Disneyland castle transform into a winter wonderland throughout November.

It doesn't matter what season it is; as long as we have passes, we try to get in as many Disney days as possible.

One of the boy's friends had a birthday party at the Disneyland Hotel over Thanksgiving Break and we were lucky enough to go hang out poolside for a few hours.

Since we were already there, we spent a few hours at the park too.

Crew developed an obsession with Pluto. He found a hand me down stuffed animal and it didn't leave his side for weeks. He was floored when we spotted the real deal in the park. Crew just had to show the real Pluto his little Pluto.

Little Turkeys

I was scheduled to teach preschool co-op the week before Thanksgiving so naturally, we made turkey hats. Usually Crew is at school during Finn's preschool but we switched the day that week so he got to join us too. Cutest little turkeys I ever did see.

Almost Rain

One afternoon after school, the sky darkened a bit and all four boys rushed over to the window. They were checking to see if it might rain. It never did, but the potential for rain kept them pressed to the window with excited awe for a good thirty minutes. That was the moment I realized they are true California boys. They rarely experience rain, and the prospect of a change in weather is enough to stop them from whatever they are doing.

The Blue Ninjas

Crew waited years for it to be his turn to play a sport. After all the hype of his first practice and getting dressed 11 hours in advance, the practice got lightning-ed out. Even though day one was a bust, Crew was still all smiles because he got to pick up his soccer ball and meet his coach.

I love the program here for the first year of soccer. They have trainers work with the kids on soccer skills for the first 30 minutes and then play a quick game during the second half of the hour.

It is the perfect time commitment for 4 and 5 year olds.

Crew asked for a sno cone from the truck parked by the field every Saturday and one week we finally caved.

The real motivator, of course, was the trophy promised after the last game.

We officially made it through our first season of 3 kids involved in extracurriculars. I can't imagine how much crazier it will get when we add in the 4th.

Halloween Rundown

I began Halloween morning at Crew's preschool. His class went trick-or-treating at surrounding community buildings.

I got to stay to help with crafts and snacks. I can't think of a better place to be than preschool on Halloween.

The boys were cooperative as always at my attempt to gather them all together for a photo...

The neighbor kids started coming out one by one and we prepared to go trick-or-treating in our new neighborhood.

We always wait until the last minute to carve pumpkins because they don't last long in the California heat.

The boys ended the night by comparing their lots with brothers and friends.

Crew sat by the door and waited until the very last trick-or-treater came to round out the night. Our holiday enthusiast stayed strong till the very end.
