Spring seems to be the time of year when a lot of extra events are going on at school.
Nash performed in a darling play.
It was everything you'd expect from a first grade play; a little corny and a little sweet.
Nash's class took a field trip to the flower fields in Carlsbad. I have been wanting to bring some willing subjects and my nice camera to that spot each year. The class only allowed one parent volunteer to tag along and sadly it wasn't me. It's topping my list next year.
Blake had to do a report on a location in Orange County and picked OC Great Park. It was too windy for the hot air balloon to launch on the day we were there but we explored the rest of the park.
Our first stop was the airplane hangar.
Next was a little puppet theater.
Followed by a surf photography exhibit.
We ended with the carousel and paid one extra dollar for unlimited rides.
Add in parent/teacher conferences, the spring showcase open house, statewide testing, the science fair and the annual Fun Run and March rounded out to be a packed month full of extra school events. It was busier than normal on top of swim meets, piano lessons and baseball games, but we sure adore their school and the community that rallies behind it.
