While we were in the desert for Thanksgiving, we were invited to the tree lighting ceremony at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess. My dad had access passes to a VIP dinner in the ballroom prior to the tree lighting. My mom volunteered to stay home with Finn and the rest of us enjoyed a gourmet meal. It was served buffet style which is basically my boys' dream. We ate a full Thanksgiving dinner with several different meats and side dishes. There was a kids' buffet that even I was tempted to try. The boys' favorite part was the endless hot chocolate.
We waited outside in the crowd for the tree lighting. I don't think I'll ever get over how funny it is to see palm trees wound with Christmas lights.
We counted down until the four-story tree was officially lit for the season.
We were shocked when at the precise moment we ended the countdown, the tree illuminated and fireworks simultaneously shot off in the sky.
We watched the musically animated Christmas tree lights sync to several songs.
We walked through the resort's lagoon light display.
We saw more Christmas trees spread throughout the grounds, surrounded by more palm trees.
The fancy dinner and tree lighting fireworks display made us wish we lived close enough to kick off Christmas that way every year.
Lindsey you have been so busy getting these posts up!! Wow!
